Selling My Teaching Resources Online Changed the Game

Have you ever known you needed something more but didn’t know what? That’s what selling my teaching resources online did for me. During a tough year at work, I needed something to do to escape.

This past year has been a hard one for me.

I entered my second year of teaching so excited and ready to have the #bestyearever.

*Insert evil laughter*

To fully understand, let’s backtrack: I  finally graduated from college and got my dream job as a kindergarten teacher. My class was the absolute best, I won teacher of the year, and met some amazing people at my new school — life was good. My first year in the real world couldn’t have gone any better.

Fast-forward to the first day of school my second year: 2 runners, 6 cryers, me screaming at the top of my lungs just so they can hear me, all by noon. On the third day of school I remember calling my mom and saying “I think this is just how it’s gonna go this year”.

I’m in that season where a lot of my friends are getting started on “life stuff” like moving out, getting married, etc. Even though those things aren’t on my radar right now, I just felt like I was behind, like I was stuck. It seemed like that perfect life I had just a few months ago was crumbling day by day.

One morning while I was drying my tears on the way to work I was listening to Kayse’s podcast. I had played around with selling my teaching resources online before, but the podcast got me thinking all businessy. Before I knew it I was setting a reminder for the Transform Your Resources launch. I was skeptical, I didn’t fully know what I was getting into. I wasn’t sure if I believed in myself enough to keep going, but I just thought since I paid hard earned money for it, I’d give it a real shot.

I went all in; I was obsessed.

You have to be willing to put in the work, listen to the advice, and follow the rules.

Being a part of #TYR has given me something to look forward to and somewhere to escape on the hard days. I have something that’s all mine, I feel accomplished, I feel confident, and most importantly, I’m finally not feeling that “behind in life” feeling anymore

I feel like I hit the refresh button after joining #TYR.
