Why you need an Amazon Wish List
One of my favorite things to do before back to school time is create an Amazon wish list.
Last summer I found myself looking struggling to buy all the things I needed for the new school year. My family and friends usually offer to help out with supplies but I always feel guilty asking people to buy stuff for me, ya know?
While talking with my friend one night about how many things I needed while scrolling through Amazon and came across the Amazon wishlist tab. I started to play around with it and add some of my favorites. Afterwards, I made my list and posted it on Facebook, within a few days I was shocked to see how many of my friends and family actually bought things off of my Amazon wishlist!
Since then, so many of my teacher friends have asked me to walk them through creating their own Amazon wishlist. I’ve put together this simple and easy guide to get you started!
Mastering your Amazon Wish List
Step 1: Log into (or create) your Amazon account and go to “Account & Lists”. From here you’ll want to click on “Create List”.
Step 2: A box will pop up with some settings. The first box you’ll want to click on is “This list is for ___”. Click on the dropdown box and make sure it says “You”. Also in this box you need to click on “Wish List” and name your list. I usually name mine “Ms. White’s Classroom”. I would recommend putting your name somewhere on the list just to ensure people are buying for you. Make sure your wish list is set to public so others can view it when you share the link.
Step 3: Once your list is created, you can start searching for items you want to add to your list. Click on the item you want to add, and located in the bottom right, underneath where you would click to purchase, there’s a dropdown box that says “Add to List”. From here you would select which wishlist you want the item to go on.
Step 4: When you have finished adding all the items to your amazon wishlist, you can go back to the “Account & Lists” tab. Click on your link and copy the URL in the browser. From here, you can copy and paste your link to your social media accounts.
Sharing Your Amazon Wish List
Another fun idea is to copy your link to a QR code generator and paste your QR code to your meet the teacher letter letter. That way when back to school time comes around parents can hop on and grab things for your classroom!
