Dismissal Information
The first day of school can be so scary for teachers and students! I know the kindergarten teacher rule for the first day of school is just to get them fed and on the right bus! Dismissal information can be super confusing, but I finally have a system that works and I want you to have the same!
It is so important that your parents and students know their child’s dismissal information. I like to ask parents how their child is getting home the first day of school AND on a normal day of school. I have found that in kindergarten, a lot of parents want to pick their child up from school on the first day, but will normally ride the bus. At Meet the Teacher night, I like to have parents fill out all of that information for me and create a list and/or table for the first few days of school.
Bus Tags
Once I have my dismissal information in a table, I create bus tags for all of the students’ backpacks. I type in their name, how they’re getting home and a bus number if they are riding the bus!
School Bus Name Tags
Once the school bus name tags are ready, printed, and laminated, I get them ready to put onto the students backpacks. Typically I hole punch the bus tags and attach them to the students backpacks with a zip tie!
